Abstract:
This research was conducted in evaluating the impact of work-related stress on employee
performances at Heritance Kandalama Hotel. By analysing the existing literature work life
balance, workload, employee relationships, and growth opportunities has been considered as
the determinants of work-related stress in which hypothetical deductive research was
conducted by the researcher with a sample of 100 employees in identifying the relationship of
those four variables with employee performances. The data that has been collected by the
researcher found to be producing sufficiently enough internal consistency at the reliability
analysis and the demographic factor analysis indicated that the sample consisted with
sufficiently enough demographic distribution among different demographic factors. The
descriptive statistics analysis has identified the for independent variables and the dependent
variable has been appreciated moderately by the participants which indicated possibilities for
development. The correlation analysis has produced statistically significant positive
correlation among independent variables and the dependent variable. The multiple regression
analysis has identified the selected for variables in determining work-related stress capable in
predicting work performances up to an extent of 76.9% in which it was identified work life
balance creating a positive impact on employee performances and workload, Roy
relationships, and growth opportunities creating a negative impact on employee performances
which need close attention. Finally, the researcher has proposed recommendations to consider
by the management that will help to radios the work-related stress and enhance work
performances of the employees.
