Abstract:
The hotel industry has enormous economic, social, and environmental effects. To shift hotel enterprises
towards sustainability, the perspectives and performance of hotel employees on sustainability must be
comprehended and assessed, a topic that has not been exhaustively investigated in previous research. Thus, this
study aims to examine the relationship between the sustainable attitude and the sustainable performance of
employees. In order to accomplish the objective of the study, primary data were obtained using a questionnaire
administered to 150 employees of 6 hotels operating in the Pasikudah area of Sri Lanka. This study used the
disproportionate stratified sampling method and the unit of analysis was individual employees. A correlation
analysis was used to test the research model. The findings of the study revealed that the sustainable attitude of
employees has a significant and positive relationship with the sustainable performance of employees. This
research suggested that hotels would pay more attention to forming and shaping the sustainable attitudes of their
employees in order to improve their sustainability performance of hotels.
