| dc.description.abstract | In contemporary business world, all most all the employers try to ingest the uniqueness of their business and utilize that uniqueness in order to compete with competitors within the market successfully. Today business organizations conducted continuous researches toward the improvement of its employees in order to gain competitive advantage in the highly dynamic business world. There are lot of factors that affect to the quality of employees in an organization. Among them the concept of “Peer Support” is one of the most important factors since peers are the individuals who directly interact with employees. Peers have an important role because forming informal networks that instantaneously and without planned in the organization. Peer support may help to increase in employees’ performance because communication between peers is the one of the best ways of flowing critical information about business and business processes. Labor productivity only refers to the aspect of increasing the quantity or improving the quality of products (goods or services) which is created by improving the quality and the efforts of human resources. here were significant number of empirical studies which have been carried out to investigate the factors which can affect employee productivity. But there were very limited studies carried out to clarify the concept of peer support and investigate the impact of peer support on various employees’ outcome such as employee performance, employee productivity and employee behavior etc. Therefore, the objective of this paper is to identify the impact of peer support on employee productivity of Executive Level Workers in printed media organizations in Colombo district. Peer support factors namely instrumental peer support, informational peer support was considered as the independent variable and job satisfaction was the considered as a dependent variable through comprehensive literature review. A conceptual framework was developed based on the sound theoretical information to test the relationship of employee productivity independent variable namely, instrumental support, emotional support, informational support tested in this study. As per the collected data researcher able to get insight in findings based on the Analysis of data that there is a positive impact of peer support on employee productivity. According to findings, it can be confirmed that there is positive impact of instrumental peer support, emotional peer support and informational Peer support on employee productivity. Instrumental peer support had been resulted in 70%, emotional peer support had been 71%, informational peer support had been resulted in 70% of employee productivity of executive Level employees in printed media organizations located in Colombo district. Researcher focuses on give insight on how to increase employee productivity on selected sector through peer support since there were numerous study carryout on how to increase employee productivity using different factors and there were very limited studies have been carrying out relating to the concept of “peer support”. | en_US |
