Abstract:
Entrepreneurship has continuously grown in recent years, and it has diversified its proposal for new
values as green entrepreneurship. Some researchers described outcomes of learning and development activities
focused on entrepreneurship and identified the weaknesses of university education regarding the knowledge and
skills necessary for entrepreneurship, along with identifying the role of universities in promoting business
development through theoretical and practical academic training, which is to give added value to universities.
University education has been seen to gradually orient more towards entrepreneurship. The Covid-19 pandemic
dramatically changed people’s lives and businesses, causing 3.7 million people to die as of 5 June 2021. The
objective of this research is to identify factors affecting green entrepreneurship intention during COVID -19. This
research assesses the influence of education development support, conceptual development support, and country
support through entrepreneurial self-efficacy over green entrepreneurial intentions. The study has utilized primary
data and a sample of size 377 was chosen and 397 responses were received. Data were analyzed by using the
statistical package of SPSS 20.0 and Smart PLS. The data analysis was initiated to evaluate the internal
consistency of each subscale Cronbach value. Next, analyzed construct and discriminant validity and internal
consistency. A good fit requires the value of the average extracted variance. The main findings confirmed that
Entrepreneurial Self-Efficacy Education Development Support, Institutional Support, and Country Support
positively influence GEI in undergraduates in state universities of Sri Lanka during COVID -19. Most of the
existing studies only discuss the relationship between COVID -19 and entrepreneurial intention, ignoring green
entrepreneurship. This research helps to fill the gaps in literature. It gave such kind of a hint for responsible parties
to give their considerable attention to developing green entrepreneurship intention among undergraduates.
Furthermore, this will help academic readers, other future researchers, and university administrations to make
their own decisions.
