Abstract:
Technological advancements are exerting tremendous influence globally today. Technology is having
an impact on both public and private sectors. As a result, e-government is being implemented in all nations, and
technologicalization of government institutions is regarded as crucial. Many countries are interested in shifting
from traditional government system to e-government system, especially after the covid pandemic situation. The
traditional government system is delayed and costly, with the rapid advancement of information technology, egovernance adaptation is widespread in the nation as a means of minimizing the shortcomings of the traditional
government system. E-government is being addressed as though it were a worldwide endeavor, which could
provide a challenge. Although it is universalized across the world, its nature varies depending on the
environmental imperatives, culture and conditions of individual countries. Therefore, a universal approach is
unlikely to be effective in all economic systems. While numerous researchers have done studies on the global
setting addressing crucial aspects effecting the deployment of e-government, however, it hasn’t been thoroughly
explored in Sri Lanka context. Hence, this research aims to explore critical factors effecting to successful e-government implementation within Sri Lanka Provincial Councils. The research findings are used to give future
researchers and marketers better understanding of FCC model factors. In addition, future researchers can apply
these influencing FCC model factors within Sri Lanka context to attain successful implementation of e-government.
