Abstract:
This study explores the Impact of trade union participation on the performance of
a state sector organization: Mediating effect of employee happiness. The objectives of the
study follow to identify the impact of trade union participation on employee performance, to
identify the impact of trade union participation on happiness on employees, to identify the
impact of employee happiness on the performance of employees, to identify the mediating
effect of employee happiness between trade union participation and employee performance.
The conceptual framework was structured based on the quantitative approach and 03 potential influential factors were explored. Primary data was collected by means of a questionnaire from employees who are active in trade unions. 269 valid questionnaires were used in the analysis. Factor analysis and Regression analysis were used to identify the most influential factors. This study has identified there is a significant moderate positive relationship between the happiness of employees and employee job performance and there is no mediating effect of Employee happiness between trade union participation and employee performance.
