Abstract:
This study is undertaken by W.M.C Madushanie to the fulfillment of final research project of
CQHRM at CIPM, Sri Lanka. On the scenario of continuous discussions on challenges faced by
Sri Lankan economy export oriented organizations have been taken the responsibility of building
country’s economy by attracting foreign currency towards country. Hence achieving
organizational goals and maintaining production smoothly within a minimal cost is one of the most
vital for such organization nowadays, but high labour turnover and absenteeism working a huge
barricade of achieving this. ATG Hand Care is maintained minimum level of labour turnover and
absenteeism for past year but within several past months they had face that huge barricade
regarding non-executives in Company, therefore the senior management was needed to find out
the main reasons for these turnover and absenteeism. Hence this study empirically investigated six
dimensions of employee job satisfaction, which could influence employee turnover intention of
non-executives in ATG Company, in order to find out the impact of employee job satisfaction on
turnover intention. The data were collected from the sample of 250 non-executives, which selected
using proportionate stratified random sampling method by administrating a self-designed
questionnaire, which consisted 38 of questions with 5 points scale. The collected data were
analyzed in various ways such as descriptive data analysis, univariate analysis, Pearson’s
correlation analysis, Simple & multiple regression analyses. The findings of the study are change
resistance of employees positively and strongly correlated with turnover intention of nonexecutives in ATG Company while employee salary negatively and strongly correlated with
turnover intention. According to multiple regression analysis, 82% of variation in turnover
intention of non-executives in ATG Company has been accounted for by job satisfaction. It is
concluded that among six dimensions of job satisfaction, change resistance of employee should
address well in order to reduce turnover of non-executives in ATG Company by conducting proper
trainings and understanding. However the reasons for turnover intention and factors affecting to
job satisfaction are divergent in nature.
