Abstract:
This study evaluates the factors affecting to utilization of HRIS within a selected organization,
namely ABC Beer Limited, the second largest beer company in Sri Lanka with a ten percent
market share. ABC is a company which thrives on digitalization and Innovation. As part of
their digitalization strategy, they implemented “MyHR” HRIS in Sri Lanka in year 2019 and
there is a major update which was planned for the year 2022. From year 2019 to 2022, the
utilization level of HRIS is considerably low. Therefore, the objective of the research was to
identify the factors affecting the current level of utilization of HRIS and to find the methods to
improve those and to get the optimum usage level of HRIS with the new implementation in
year 2022. The research focuses on the independent variables; IT awareness, willingness to
learn, change management, organization leadership and their impact on the utilization of HRIS.
The research was quantitative research, where a questionnaire was sent and gathered data from
53 employees of ABC. Microsoft office Excel and SPSS was used to analyze all the gathered
data. The research confirmed that there is a positive impact from each of the selected
independent variable to utilization of HRIS. The findings of this study recommended that there
are several improvements can be made on each selected area so that utilization levels can be
improved.
