dc.description.abstract Job satisfaction is one’s feeling towards one’s job. If the employees expectations are fulfilled, the employees get higher than what he/ she feels satisfied. If the job satisfaction increases, the chance of staffs staying with the organization for a longer period of time is high. Job satisfaction has a direct link to the employee turnover. Based on the results of the pilot survey, researcher identified that the ABC Company was suffering from high employee turnover at the officer level category. Also this has resulted a high cost of production and time wastage for the company. The general purpose is to examine the impact of job satisfaction to employee turnover in officer level category employees at ABC Company in Colombo. Employee turnover was the dependent variable of this study. Job satisfaction is arguably the most important variable in employee turnover. Employee performance, effectiveness, and productivity are all impacted by job satisfaction, which also reduces turnover and increases retention. On the other hand, poor levels of job satisfaction have a detrimental impact on employees' performances and lead to their exit. The job satisfaction was selected as independent variables and under that salary package and benefits, work environment, supervisor relationship were identified. The working environment is one of the important variable which influence the level of satisfaction of employees and also productivity of the employees is determined mostly by the environment in which they work. It is important note that if there is lack of positive interaction it will result in low satisfaction of their job. Similarly with better supervisor relationship the intention of employees to leave will be reduced. And four hypotheses were developed to test this study. Mixed methodology was used in this research study. Simple random sampling was used and 85% of officer level category staffs of ABC Company were selected as the sample size. The research outcome statistically proved that there is a strong positive relationship between job satisfaction and high employee turnover. en_US
