Abstract:
The goal of this study is to describe employees' turnover intention, job satisfaction, and
organizational commitment, as well as to evaluate the influence of job satisfaction on turnover
intention using organizational commitment as a moderator.
Job satisfaction has a direct link to the employee turnover. Based on the results of the pilot
survey, researcher identified that the ABC Company was suffering from high employee
turnover since 2020 at the machine operator level category. This issue has highly affected for
the organizational productivity. Also, this has resulted a high cost of production and time
wastage for the company as they have to conduct recruitment process often.
The general purpose of to examine the impact of Impact of Job Satisfaction Affecting to
Employee Turnover among Production Category at ABC (PVT) LTD - Horana.
High employee turnover was the dependent variable of this study. The job satisfaction was
selected as the independent variable and under that Supervisor behavior, supervisor leadership,
Supervisor/subordinate team work, supervisor communication variables were identified. And
four hypothesizes were developed to test in this study. Mixed methodology was using in the
study, where both qualitative and quantitative methods were used. Simple random sampling
was used and 102% of machine operators of ABC Company was selected as the sample size.
Pre-structured questionnaire was used to collect primary data while secondary data were
collected from research documents, leave records, documents on exist interviews and the
company annual report.
The research outcome statistically proved that there is a significant positive relationship
between the job satisfaction and the high employee turnover. With regards to the ABC
Company, the researcher highly recommend to hire the right people for the company who have
the right qualifications to reduce high employee turnover.
