Abstract:
Human resource is accepted as an important asset in organizations, as it has the
unique characteristics in order to gain the sustainable competitive advantage to the
organizations in competitive environment. This necessarily addresses the
importance of Human resource management. Employee welfare is one of important
applications within Human resource management that aims at betterment of
workers life by providing various facilities above the wage. The basic intention of
providing welfare facilities is to keep employees happy and conducted. Job
satisfaction is also a critical aspect that has many discussions. Therefore, this study
attempts to investigate the impact of welfare facilities on job satisfaction of
executive level employees in selected apparel companies in Kegalle district. The
data were collected from a randomly selected sample of 100 executive level
employees in ABC general Insurance ltd. The researcher has used a structured
questionnaire, which indicated the statements of welfare facilities and job
satisfaction with 5 points Likert scale. Gathered data were analyzed using
univariate, correlation and regression analysis with the SPSS (22 version). The
finding of the study is concluded that the employee welfare has positive and
significant impact on job satisfaction of executive level employees in ABC general
Insurance ltd. Increasing the scope of various welfare facilities by getting employee
perceptions on those facilities, managing welfare facilities by ensuing the
expectations of both employer and employees were presented as recommendation.
