Abstract:
As a developing country, Sri Lanka was passing a lot of milestones until now. But because of the
current economic crisis and post COVID-19 effect, many industries got severely affected in different ways in Sri
Lanka. The industry which focuses throughout this study which is the natural food producing industry, also
currently facing a difficult time on gaining profits due to the increment of material costs has happened because of
the inflation. Therefore, development on the natural food supply chain is a must to grow sustainably for all the
natural food manufacturing companies in Sri Lanka. Aim of this study was to find the most impacting factors
which develop the natural food supply chain here in Sri Lanka. Factors which were found through the critical
review of literature which were collaboration, continuation, strategic orientation, risk management and proactivity
were tested by gathering relevant data from the staff level employees who are currently involving throughout the
natural food supply chain under different sections in Sri Lanka by using an especially designed online
questionnaire. Questionnaire was distributed among key players in Sri Lankan natural food manufacturing
industry and the sample size was 205. As the result after the robust analysis, indicted that each variable has a
positive relationship for the development of the natural food supply chain and the selected factors are responsible
for the development of natural food supply chain in Sri Lanka as a 30.6% of degree to which identified factors
explain the influence of natural food supply chain in Sri Lanka.
