Abstract:
Work Stress is an important topic of human resource management and has become a top priority for
workers everywhere. Job stress can lead to poor health and a level of injury. Job satisfaction describes how much
people feel positive about their job. The researcher selected the Grama Niladari officers in the Kesbewa division
for this study. The study has conducted research on the 40 Grama Niladari officers working in the Kesbewa
division. A self-administrated questionnaire was designed with a five-point Likert scale, to obtain the required
data from the respondents. A sample of 40 Grama Niladari officers for the study was selected from Kesbewa
divisional secretariat using a simple random sampling technique. Descriptive statistics and regression analysis
were used to analyze the data. The results showed that work stress significantly affects the job satisfaction of the
Grama Niladari officers in the Kesbewa division. The study reveals that work stress has a strong impact on the
job satisfaction of the employees. Discussion of future research regarding job satisfaction is included.
