Abstract:
This research study is focused how the job-related characteristics impact for their job satisfaction and
provide suggestions to develop the job characteristics for increasing the satisfaction of their job. The identified
job characteristics are skill variety, task identity, job autonomy, Significance of task and job feedback. This
situation was addressed throughout the mix method which consist with quantitative and qualitative research
approaches. Data were collected from Questionnaire survey and semi-structured interview. And the collected data
analysed from SPSS through Relative Important Index analysis, correlation analysis and regression analysis to
find importance of characteristics, relationship between job characteristics as well as the impact on the job
satisfaction respectively. Qualitative data were analysed through content analysis. According to research findings,
all characteristics are very important determinants because they have strongly positive relationship and impact to
the job satisfaction of quantity surveyors. Therefore, get a more productive output from quantity surveyors from
their allocated tasks, develop job characteristics is one of suitable suggestion with increasing their job satisfaction,
because these characteristics are required to perform the work scope of them.
