Abstract:
The study focuses on analysing the relationship between institutional rewards and employee
retention, with particular emphasis on the matchbox factory in the Kandy area. In this research
objective the main objective is to investigate the impact of institutional rewards on employee
retention in the matchbox factory. Data Analysis Techniques are Multivariate analysis and
regression analysis were employed to analyse the main objectives and correlations found in the
study. Data was collected through a questionnaire administered to 120 female workers in the
matchbox factory in the Kandy area. The population of interest was female workers in the
matchbox factory, and the sample consisted of 120 individuals selected using sampling
techniques. The study revealed a significant relationship between institutional rewards,
including salary, incentives, welfare facilities, and employment benefits, and employee
retention. This relationship was found to be influenced by factors such as autonomy and the
work environment.
