Abstract:
This study was designed to identify what factors influence male employees who pay less attention to
gender diversity in maintaining their work-life balance. There was a large literary gap in the study of the worklife balance of male workers, which formed the background for the preparation of this study. When it comes to
work-life balance is the state of equilibrium where a person equally prioritizes the demands of one’s career and
the demands of one’s personal life. Accordingly, employees in the banking sector, which is one of the most
complex and busy areas in the business sector, were selected for this study. The main objective of the study is to
identify the main factors affecting the work-life balance of male bank employees and to study its impact. The
study was conducted through quantitative research and accordingly, 212 samples were selected from 1700 bank
employees of 6 major banks in the Colombo district, and data was collected through a Likert Scale questionnaire
created through a Google web form. Accordingly, the study analyzes data on how working hours, working
policies, and workload affect male employees' work-life balance and how their relationship to the banking sector
is described Pearson's correlation analysis used descriptive statistics for the study variables. The method was also
chosen because a grading scale was used in the questionnaire. Male bank employees' working life balance and
working hours P value was -0.633. Thus, the study data analysis shows a clear negative correlation between these
variables. Work policies and male bank employees show a higher correlation than other independent variables
regarding work-life balance. Its P value is 0.736 and shows a strong positive correlation. Similarly, the P value
between the other variable workload and the work-life balance of male bank employees was -0.658. Thus, the
study data show a clear negative correlation between these variables. Accordingly, these three factors show a
significant relationship with the work-life balance of male employees. Therefore, the banking sector should pay
close attention to the fact that working policies and working hours have a large negative impact on the employees’
work-life balance. For that, proper flexible service facilities should be provided, and practical applications should
be directed toward work policies
