Abstract:
The article attempts to address the gap with regard to the relationship between HRM practices and employee competence. The
objective is to highlight the importance of the competency outcome of the employee. The foundation of the study is derived from
the General Systems theory. The theory provides that certain practices if implemented will result in positive outcomes. The
theory is relevant as it views HRM activities as a stream of processes. Understanding of the theory can assist organizations in
improving their human capital capabilities
