dc.description.abstract Employee job satisfaction is essential to establishing organizational performance, which is mostly dependent on human resources. In the healthcare industry, job fulfillment for staff is particularly significant. This study examined the connection between executive-level employees emotional intelligence and satisfaction with work at Nawaloka Hospitals PLC, Colombo. The rate of job satisfaction, as shown by a pilot survey, led to an investigation into emotional intelligence as a critical component influencing job satisfaction. Four aspects of emotional intelligence were examined in this study: relationship management, social awareness, self-awareness, and self-management. The study population of comprised 156 executive level staff with a sample of 112 selected using random sampling. A self-administered questionnaire was used to collect data, and multiple regression analysis was used to ascertain how emotional intelligence affected work satisfaction. The results showed that work happiness and emotional intelligence had a moderate to high positive association. Job satisfaction was found to be significantly positively impacted by emotional intelligence in general. Furthermore, among the executive-level employees of Nawaloka Hospitals PLC, the results showed that Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Social Awareness, and Relationship Management had a significant positive influence on job satisfaction, while Relationship Management being the most important element. en_US
