| dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this paper is to present empirical results of a study aimed at developing a well – covered measurement scale for employee job performance. The data of this study were collected from 226 managers employed in manufacturing firms in Sri Lanka. The measurement model of employee job performance consists of seven items in relation to employees’ task performance, contextual performance, and counterproductive work behavior which was tested using exploratory factor analysis using principal component for extraction and varimax for rotation as well as confirmatory factor analysis using partial least square – structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). Results of these analyses revealed that the seven latent constructs used in the measurement scale of employee job performance satisfy the criteria of unidimensionality, reliability, and validity. The development of this multi – item scale provides new insight in covering different aspects of employee job performance which can thus be used as a new measurement instrument. The contribution of this effort in terms of research and practices has been discussed. | en_US |
