Abstract:
The study empirically investigates about Employee mindfulness and Employee Performance. At the
same time researcher has a mediator which is work life balance and, checks whether it mediates in between
Employee Mindfulness and Employee Performance. Mainly the study focuses on the impact of employee
mindfulness on employee job performance. To proceed this study, the researcher has selected a leading apparel
manufacturer in Sri Lanka. Main objectives of this study as follows, to identify the relationship between
mindfulness and employee performance, to identify the relationship between employee mindfulness and work life
balance, to identify the relationship between work life balance and employee performance, to identify the
mediating effect of work life balance between employee mindfulness and employee performance.
To collect data for the research the researcher has used the simple random sample method and sample size is 52.
In the Sri Lanka’s production team total count of the employees are 60 and the research questionnaire has been
distributed with the entire team and 54 responses have received. Finalized the questionnaire has been analyzed
using the SPSS tool. Using SPSS, the researcher has analyzed Descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation
coefficient and regression, Sobel test has been done.
When illustrating the analyzed data, Mindfulness has direct impact on Employee performance and has a very
strong relationship. Next the work life balance is influencing the mindfulness factor, but unfortunately the
performance and work life balance factors have very poor relationship but yet the mediator is mediating in between
both the variable and dependent variable. Researcher has provided a summary and then suggestions and
recommendations for the company HR team of the company. All the results are based on the collected data of this
ABC Sri Lanka company and these results could vary with the previous submitted research reports and publication
results.
