dc.description.abstract A crucial component of organisational development that integrates human resources is employee performance. Employee engagement positively impacts the success of the organisation. High employee engagement contributes to higher employee performance levels and effective corporate goals achievement. This study was carried out to explore the effects of employee-related variables on employee absenteeism in a chosen firm in Sri Lanka and to determine the elements that have the most impact on employee absence. Apart from outlining the need to address employee-related issues that employees encounter in the workplace. In a survey that included a structured questionnaire, the researcher was interviewed. 100 questionnaires were randomly distributed to the company's workers. There were 30 questions covering four distinct elements that have an effect on employee absenteeism. Due to the researcher's use of a mixed methodology, both qualitative and quantitative data were analysed in this study. The numeric data was analysed using IBM SPSS statistics software, while the qualitative analysis was carried out using narrative analysis. en_US
