dc.description.abstract This study evaluates the relationship between Occupational Health & Safety and Employee Retention within a selected organization, a leading provider of port and marine fuel services in Sri Lanka. As working in a port is hazardous due to the exposure to numerous dangers daily, including working at heights, falling goods, and heavy machinery, employees of the organization are very much concerned about Occupational Health and Safety measures taken by the organization and their intention on retention is much affected by these practices. This study focuses on the independent variables, the quality of Personal Protective Equipment, Health & Safety training sessions, Organizational safety culture, and their relationship with Employee Retention. This research is quantitative, where a questionnaire was distributed among a sample of 92 employees of the organization. SPSS and Microsoft Office Excel have been used to analyze the data. This study confirms that Occupational Health & Safety has a significant, positive relationship with Employee Retention in this organization. The findings of this study recommend that this organization should focus more on its drawbacks in Occupational Health & Safety practices to increase the retention of capable employees. en_US
