dc.description.abstract In addition to their conventional responsibilities, military personnel are more focused on environmental conservation projects during times of peace. Conventional responsibilities are war, diplomatic relations and humanitarian and disaster relief. Due to its island location, the Sri Lanka Navy is the country's most important defense force and is in charge of defending the marine interests of the Sri Lankan nation. It is the naval branch of the Sri Lankan Armed Forces. Aim of this study is to identify the mediating role of green orientation on the relationship between leadership and employee engagement in the Sri Lanka Navy context. In this study, an individual officer in the Sri Lanka Navy is the unit of analysis. In this study, 244 individuals were sampled. Quantitative research is being conducted in this study. The purpose of the study is hypothesis testing. This study was done in a non-artificial environment with minimum researcher interference. The findings of this study suggests there is a direct relationship of leadership and employee engagement as well as indirect relationship with green orientation as a mediator. en_US
