dc.description.abstract Since the employees’ contribution is vital for the proposperity of any organization, having engaged employees is the current thought of every organization. However, there is still a enigma whether employees are engaging in their work or not. Thus, the present study investigates the nexus of employee happiness and employee engagement. Since little attention was paid to employee happiness in the garment industry specially on team members, this study sheds new light on the Sri Lankan context with the association between employee happiness and employee engagement with the help of conservation of resource theory. A survey strategy was used for this study and data were collected from conveniently chosen 389 team members from apparel industry. SPSS 23.0 was utilized to analyze the data. The results unveil that individuals with high workplace happiness are more likely to have high employee engagement. This is the first study to incorporate happiness and engagement in Sri Lankan apparel sector. The theoretical and practical implications have discoursed at the end of the paper. en_US
