The construction sector consistently encounters difficulties and obstacles. However, in developing
nations like Sri Lanka, these difficulties and difficulties coexist with a generalised state of socioeconomic stress,
persistent supply shortages, institutional flaws, and general serious issues. Construction is a hybrid, segmented,
and planning-driven industry, therefore it frequently faces obstacles, that limit its ability to succeed. The purpose
of the study is to, the analysis of how one or a few particular issues affect the building project has been the sole
focus of earlier research in the field of construction challenges. The key benefit of this research is that it provides
a platform for efficiently managing the process and improving the performance of the future construction
employment market by bringing together the issues and challenges facing the sector. The study used a mixed
approach in qualitative and quantitative techniques and a review of the literature was undergone to identify
literature. A questionnaire was distributed among 60 professionals in Sri Lanka to assess the modern challenges
affecting the future job market. The analysis is done under Relative Importance Index (RII), and the modern
challenges affecting the Sri Lankan construction industry. A five-point Likert scale was used in the questionnaire's
design, and SPSS was applied to analyse the results. Results mean how about the future job market in Sri Lankan
Quantity Surveyors. From the study of the results, one who chooses the quantity surveying field in the future can
get a correct idea about whether it is suitable or not. |
