The study empirically investigates the impact of digitalization on employee happiness in Sri Lanka
Telecom PLC. The specific objectives of the study are, to identify the impact of digitalization on employee
happiness, to analyze the relationship between digitalization and employee happiness, to analyze the relationship
between dimensional perspectives of digitalization and to recommend the suggestions to enhance employee
happiness. The data was collected using simple random sampling technique and sample size was 363 operational
level employees in the company. Out of 363 employees 213 respondents were selected to analyze the data. A
structured questionnaire was administered to collect the data and that were analyzed using SPSS version 25.0.
Descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation coefficient and regression analysis were used to analyze the data.
Digitalization was evaluated by using the five dimensions i.e., HRM, Technology, digitalization of process,
digitalization of customer service, strategy. The findings of the study revealed that digitalization has a positive
significant impact with employee happiness (r2 = 0.417, p< 0.01). Moreover, the findings indicated that HRM,
Technology, digitalization of process, digitalization of customer service and strategy have a positive significant
impact to employee happiness. Therefore, the study concluded that the digitalization has positive impact on
employee happiness. According to the findings telecommunication service provider need to consider on
addressing competency gaps for digitalization to improve employee happiness. |
