| dc.description.abstract | The National Gem and Jewellery Authority of Sri Lanka has forecast that earnings from gem exports will reach US$2 billion annually by 2025, with earnings of US$500 million already scheduled for 2023. One of the pioneers in this sector is the Mallika Hemachandra Jewellers (Pvt) Ltd which has been producing jewelry over centuries for both local and foreign clients. This organization is primary to research and thus far have done very minimal research especially on the different leadership styles and their connection to employee job satisfaction. This research was conducted to find out the relationship of job satisfaction and leadership style of managerial and non-managerial employees at Mallika Hemachandra Jewellers (Pvt) Ltd Sri Lanka. 05 dimensions were selected for the Job Satisfaction namely work, pay, supervision, coworkers and working condition. Autocratic, democratic, transformational and transactional were considered as the subsets of the leadership styles. Out of the 108 active employees the researcher has omitted the top management and the study was based on 105 employees altogether. A sample consisting of all managers, supervisors, and worker level employees was obtained, and 105 of them answered the self-administrated questionnaire. This study finds out that leadership style does not influence job satisfaction of employees. in Mallika Hemachandra Jewellers (Pvt) Ltd and are analyzed with statistical data by the SPSS software. The results showed that there is an insignificant correlation between job satisfaction and the different leadership styles. This was an interesting finding where further researchers could look into what other factors affecting job dissatisfaction of employees in the organization. | en_US |
