Abstract:
Hybrid working is a subject matter that is growing on a faster basis as technology continues to advance. The
introduction of hybrid working has created a new way of working where employees are empowered to
choose their working environment in a way that suits them best. Therefore, this has created competitive
ground among companies, to provide the best hybrid working model to attract talent in the company.
Valmet Technologies Ltd is the chosen assignor for the work. The research is about understanding how the
introduction of hybrid working has impacted the finance and accounting personnel. The objective of the
research is to have an overview of the defined hybrid working model being used as well as to find solutions
to the problem areas the personnel faces while working in hybrid working mode.
The qualitative research approach was applied in this research to meet the research objectives. Interviews
were conducted with seven respondents, enabling the author to gain insight into the factors that impact
job satisfaction while working in a hybrid working mode. Data analysis was applied to analyse data
collected from the structured interviews, that included open-ended questions. The text was analysed by
deducting and presenting themes highlighted by the interviews. Reliability of the research allowed the
author to be free from any bias given that they are also the finance and accounting personnel of Valmet
Technologies Ltd. Direct quotations were included, consent was received from the respondents on
recording and leading questions were avoided.
The research approach was of utmost importance because it allowed the respondents to explain in detail
the possible changes, they would like to see in the future that could enhance their job satisfaction.
Therefore, the categorized themes enabled the author to answer the research questions, as well as provide
solutions to the areas that impact the overall morale while working. The themes were categorized as such
as communication, work-life balance, sustainability, productivity, self-governance, and performance were
among the highlighted points that impact the overall satisfaction on the job.
