Abstract:
With the World Health Organization (WHO) declaring the New Corona Virus (COVID-
19) to be pandemic, businesses worldwide were forced to shut down their offices,
factories, showrooms & facilities. The rapid outbreak of COVID-19 presented an
alarming health crisis to Sri Lanka, too. The government announced island-wide
curfew w.e.f.20.03.2020 while locking down the entire country. As a responsible
public liability tiles manufacturing company of Sri Lanka, we also commenced
shutdown of our manufacturing and all sales unit for a temporary period to keep
employees in their houses per government directives. However, businesses in Sri
Lanka seriously affected due to the continuous locked down of the country. Some
export-oriented manufacturing organisations have resumed their operations little
by little as per the directive of the Presidential Secretariat of Sri Lanka. In addition
to the human impact, there was also a significant commercial and operational
impact. Organizations were focused their efforts internally to protect the
sustainability of their companies.
