dc.description.abstract The emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020 has enforced for many employees unexpectedly required to work from home. In Sri Lankan context, Work from Home (WFM) concept is new to many employees, as they have to work from home for the first time. Work from home is also called as a telecommuting. The proper implementation of telecommuting will be a valuable management strategy for improving the effectiveness of organization by improving employee performance through providing more flexibilities to the employees. Hence it is important to study the impact of telecommuting on work life balance, employee job satisfaction and employee performance for executive employees in the telecommunication industry in Sri Lanka. This research reflects the philosophy of positivism since research will be carried out purely on facts and research finding which is quantifiable. Therefore, it involves quantitative analysis using hypothesis testing in a deductive research approach. This investigation area will be used cluster sampling method to select three major companies in telecommunication industry. Selection will be based on the highest number of employees who are currently working in the three main telecommunication service providers of the country. A standard questionnaire will be developed to identify the relationship between telecommuting, work life balance, employee performance and employee job satisfaction. Findings of the study will be provided the requirement of the competitive work environment in the 21st century. Researcher is expecting to propose best practices of telecommuting in order to promote good work life balance for employees and highlighting the key benefits for the organizations. en_US
