Abstract:
The apparel industry has witnessed a growing emphasis on transparency and traceability due to
increasing regulatory requirements, consumer awareness, and sustainability concerns. Traceability documentation
serves as a critical tool in ensuring compliance, enhancing stakeholder collaboration, and mitigating counterfeit
risks. This literature review aims to explore the importance of traceability documentation in the apparel industry,
with a particular focus on its role in enhancing transparency. This study ensures a wide and transparent study on
traceability in the apparel industry by using the PRISMA model to carefully review the past research and the
industry practices. The findings highlight the necessity of standardized documentation practices to improve
product authenticity, regulatory compliance, and consumer trust. Additionally, the study identifies research gaps
in the practical implementation of traceability measures and their impact on industry-wide transparency. This
review contributes to the ongoing discourse on sustainable and ethical practices in the apparel industry by
