| dc.description.abstract | The inclusion of workers with disabilities in the apparel industry is gaining traction as organizations recognize the value of diversity and social responsibility. True inclusivity, however, requires a structured approach where employees are categorized based on their disabilities, as this significantly influences workplace strategies, accommodations, and support systems. This paper explores various types of disabilities employed in the Sri Lankan apparel sector. This study is based on qualitative research using semi-structured interviews with 15 executives representing operations and human resources from multiple apparel companies. The findings provide insights into current industry practices, challenges, and opportunities in integrating workers with disabilities. Such initiatives not only improve operational efficiency but also contribute to a more socially responsible and harmonious workforce. This study highlights the importance of customized interventions to integrate workers with disabilities effectively, ensuring equitable opportunities and sustainable workforce development in the apparel sector. | en_US |
