Abstract:
Economic development does not happen accidentally; it happens through future potentials who are led
by quality education in the respective country. If so, in this artificial age, Future students' profiles need to be
innovative and creative by prioritizing learning skills with the aid of quality education that is powered by AI
(Rampersad, 2020). The present study was carried out to delve into the determinants factors of undergraduates’
intention to use AI-based academic tools with the mediating role of user’s attitude to using them in the context of
the Faculty of Commerce & Management Studies (FCMS), University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka. To achieve the
research objectives, the researcher tested the extended version of the TAM technical model: Perceived Usefulness
and Perceived ease of use are independent variables while Attitude to use is used as a mediator by excluding other
determinants. However, the findings figured out that students’ intention is shaped by both internal and external
factors and then the influence of social factors needs to be enhanced further to ensure effective usage of relevant
technology in education
