dc.description.abstract The success of any organization is hinged on the abili ties and competence of the employees. How well employers create a positive work environment which satisfies the emotional needs of the employees will influence to a great extent the level of organizational productivity. In respect to this, the paper seeks to explore the relation ship between effective employee relations and organizational perfor mance. The study makes use of secondary data from journals and other relevant literature. The findings revealed that the disregard of the psychological needs of the employees, which is the desire to be re spected, valued and recognized in the organization, will create em ployees ill-treatment and further demotivation.
