| dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of health behaviors on the work performance of non-academic staff in state universities in Sri Lanka. While various factors affecting work performance have been explored, the role of health behaviors on work performance specially in Non-academic Staffs remains under researched, particularly in the context of state universities of Sri Lanka administration. This study aims to address this gap by analyzing how health-related practices impact job efficiency and overall workplace productivity. A cross-sectional field study was conducted among a convenience sample of 304 non-academic staff members from two leading state universities in Sri Lanka. Data was collected through a structured questionnaire and analyzed using SPSS, employing correlation, regression, and descriptive statistical methods. The findings reveal a significant positive relationship between health behaviors and work performance. Employees who engage in healthy lifestyle practices, including balanced nutrition, regular exercise, and effective stress management, demonstrate higher levels of productivity, job satisfaction, and reduced absenteeism. These insights highlight the critical role of employee well-being in enhancing institutional efficiency. For HR professionals in state universities, the study underscores the importance of implementing workplace wellness programs, flexible work arrangements, and stress management initiatives. Promoting a healthy work culture can lead to improved job performance, increased employee engagement, and overall institutional success | en_US |
