dc.description.abstract This study was conducted to explore the impact of motivation on employee performance of non - managerial employees in the banking sector with special reference to Western Province of Sri Lanka. The independent variables employ to measure Motivation are salary increment, regular annual leave, well defined organizational goals, and Work environment and the dependent variable was employee performance. This study is quantitative research and descriptive in nature. A questionnaire was the main data collecting tool and the samples of 152 non-managerial staff employed in six banks branches institutions situated in the Western Province of Sri Lanka. were selected using the stratified random sampling technique. Data was analyzed using summary statistics of percentages which show how respondents answer the main questions in the questionnaire, Pearson correlation which shows the statistical association exists between variables, and multiple regression analysis which is used to test the hypotheses. The study found that all the dimensions of motivation: salary increment, regular annual leave, well defined organizational goals, and work environment have a positive and significant impact on employee performance. en_US
