By 2050, the number of people aged 60 and older is projected to reach 2.1 billion, representing 21% of the global population (United Nations, 2019). Once a young nation, Sri Lanka is now transitioning into a "super-aged" society, with over 20% of its population expected to be 60 or older by 2030 (United Nations, 2019). This demographic shift poses significant challenges for Sri Lanka’s healthcare systems, labour markets, and social welfare programs while creating innovation and policy reform opportunities.
