Ranasinghe, S A; Perera, G D N
This paper attempts to identify the impact of corporate social responsibility (CSR) on Employer
Attractiveness (EA) among final year management undergraduates in a selected state university, in Sri Lanka.
Concerns about whether a company engages in CSR activities may be a crucial consideration for applicants in
deciding whether or not to apply for or accept a position at a company since there is little attention given to
studying CSR and EA among final year management undergraduates of a selected state university, in Sri Lanka.
To achieve the main purpose, five hypotheses were developed and tested in non-contrived setting. The study was
cross-sectional in time and the sample size of this study was 291 respondents by administering a structured
questionnaire which consists of 46 statements with five point Likert scale. The unit of analysis was at individual
level and data collection was mainly based on electronic version mail using Google form. The data analyses were
conducted using univariate and bivariate methods through SPSS 23. Findings of the analysis disclosed that CSR
has a significant impact on EA among final year management undergraduates in a selected state university, in Sri
Lanka and all hypotheses were accepted. Further, this study supports to fill the existing theoretical and practical
gap and is helpful to the top management of organizations to understand the importance of CSR in EA.

Anupama Wijesundara, P A D I
Social Media has become a phenomenal technological advancement in present world where individuals
connect and communicate with each other. Furthermore, Social Media has become a knowledge hub where
consumers share, interact, express and engage in multitude of activities related to different products, services and
other related functions. Travel and tourism sector has been one of the key fields where consumers rely on Social
Media based information due to its’ experiential nature and the importance of sensitive information in the
decision-making process. Role of Social Media on consumer behavior has been addressed throughout the years
and it has become a moot point where the scholars and other academic professionals have identified that it needs
further researches and studies to identify the relationship as it evolves frequently. This study discusses the concepts
of Social Media and Consumer Behavior and related topics in literature review with the support of academic
references and build the conceptual framework accordingly to conduct the analysis. Author has been identified
main independent variables based on the literature review and collected 278 responses from local consumers of
particular hotel chain through a survey based questionnaire. Descriptive research method has been used to analyze
the collected data and the findings discovered that the identified variables have an impact on consumer behavior.
As concluding remarks, the study proposes that Social Media has an impact on consumer behavior and identifying
the discussed areas would benefit the organization to understand the consumer behavior and execute their
marketing plan accordingly. Recommendations were made to improve the lacking areas and limitations of the
study have been identified to provide an outline of the study. Furthermore, the study has provided future
suggestions for future researchers as there could be other Social Media related factors affect consumer behavior
in different contexts.

Challenges of Sustainability Implementation in The Society: A Study on Solar Power Industry in Sri Lankas

Worldwide communities are on the move of a broad and rapid change of the trend of energy is generated
and used. This turnaround moves the society beyond the interest of fossil fuel (which caused climate variation and
other ecological and communal problems) to a greener, renewable energies. Renewable energy is now being used
by millions of people around the world to produce energy, heating, and cooling homes, for transportation and to
cook. In several jurisdictions, renewables are ready for the market and competitive in price with traditional
options, and in 2015, it reached about 20% of the world’s final energy demand. Societies around the world realized
that transitioning to 100 percent sustainable energy is simply a case of political will, and technology that have
been already in place. Many Nations are establishing competitive sustainable energy goals at all levels and in all
regions. With a constantly increasing number of areas targeting 100% renewable energy. The study regards to this
research indicates that the benefits of socio-economic and sustainable growth are becoming increasingly relevant
in energy strategy discussions. And the study of literature confirms that stronger and more rigorous conceptual
structures need to be built to assess, quantify, and evaluate the socio-economic and the advantages of renewable
energy for sustainable growth. As a 100 percent renewable energy program grows, the void needs to be filled up
urgently to assist decision makers to reinforce for implementing 100 percent renewable energy goals. These goals
include, along with many other aspects, that they also have the required instruments to show quantifiable socioeconomic benefits. Hence, more studies and in-depth analyzes on several key issues are required to continue
building social and political support for 100% renewable energy.
